Messages
can send data or files to:
- Contacts — phone numbers and email addresses in a Message can be added to a Contact
- Calendar — dates and times in Messages can be used to create new events
- FaceTime — phone numbers in Messages can start new FaceTime calls
- iBooks — Photos, PDFs and some other attachments to a Message can Save as PDF in iBooks
- Maps — addresses in a Message can open their Map location
- Mail — messages and their attachments can be sent via Mail
- Messages — Messages can be forwarded from the received message to a new message recipient
- News — links from News can be sent via Messages, and will then open that News story
- Notes — Messages and message attachments can be saved to Notes
- Phone — phone numbers in a message can be clicked to dial Phone
- Photos — photos and videos in a message thread can be saved to Photos
- Safari — URLs in a message will open the website in Safari
Can Receive data or files from:
- Contacts — Contact detail screen offers a choice to send a message
- FaceTime — phone numbers in Contacts can start new FaceTime calls
- Maps — Contact addresses will open the location in Maps
- Mail — Contact detail screen offers a choice to send an email
- Messages — Messages can be forwarded to a new message recipient
- News — links from News can be sent via Messages, and will then open that News story
- Notes — Notes can be sent as Messages
- Phone — Recent calls detail screen can be used to start a new Message
- Photos — photos and videos can be sent as messages from Photos
